Mental Health Month: Depression

Antidepressants are widely prescribed medications that are being given to people for far too long.  The medication eventually stops working and then the doctor prescribes either another antidepressant or another kind of drug to support the first antidepressant.  During this time, patients can develop other collateral damage from all the medication they may be taking on a continual basis.

If you or a loved one have been on this type of a treatment cycle, it can be devastating. Depression doesn’t go away, but emotions and your health can also be at risk. People diagnosed with depression get tired of being called depressed, or worse, they begin to believe that they will always be depressed. Many are afraid to ask their doctor to reduce their medications as they can be insecure and feel that everything is an effort requiring a lot of energy that they don’t have. Eventually, they decide to take control of themselves and their lives and make a decision to try a different form of treatment.

If you have been taking medication for your depression for years and are ready to try a different form of treatment, ask your doctor to start reducing the dose of your medication. Depression has many faces and looks different for everyone. Consider the possibility that maybe your brain is struggling with mineral or vitamin deficiency or hormonal imbalance. Addressing these is a total new ball game. Ask for a complimentary consultation with one of our coaches and go from there.

Mental Health Month Starts Today!

It seems like people talk about mental health a lot, but not enough to make things change drastically. We still live in a society where there is too much suicide, too much depression, anxiety and stress, too much drug addiction, alcohol and food addiction, too much prescribed medication addiction….It’s too much for far too long!

As an advanced society, we should take care of our own people. Sometimes, it seems we do as individuals, but as a society not so much. As a society, our health priorities are all wrong. How is it possible that we can buy a $1,500 cellphone, but we can’t sign up for a gym membership? Why can we go and buy cooked food at a restaurant for at least $15 a meal either once or twice a day, but we find it expensive to spend $100 a week on produce and protein? Why is a $30 bottle of wine okay to buy, but we complain for the price of quality water? All these things affect our mental health and we resist giving these up. Our mental health depends on our choices; food, water, sleep, exercise, spiritual and intellectual lifestyle. When we neglect either of these pillars, we are decreasing brain and mind effectiveness. If the choices we make include adding drugs, alcohol, prescriptions, envy, stress, rage and isolation, we are setting ourselves up for catastrophe sooner or later. Why do we fear giving up the things that are hurting our mental and brain health? Why is it so difficult to make better choices? We are emotionally attached to the things we do daily and it makes it very difficult to stop doing them. Guess what? When you take care of your routines, eating habits and invest in your health education, you are changing all the odds of your health in the future. It makes it a thousand times easier to get better control of your mental health. Our complimentary workshops are for this. We provide you with a free open education to teach everyone that wants to do better. Ask us for our next workshop and invite a friend to join. You will change your and your friend’s health outcome.

The Amazing Secret Of Intuition

The Amazing Secret of Intuition

Aug 11, 2020

Your intuition is your guidance.

You are much more than what you can see. The more aware you are of your inner strengths, the more you use them correctly.   Nothing can go wrong.

In the movie, Fried Green Tomatoes, Evelyn Couch (Kathy Bates), went about her daily life, taking care of everyone else she could on a daily basis.  She was living her life through other people.    Evelyn knew what she wanted to have in her life, but she kept it in the background of her mind, not the foreground.  Feelings kept creeping up, yet she pushed them back down because society told her how to live her life.

This led to a feeling of dissatisfaction.  Why did this happen?  Because Evelyn didn’t know how to do it any differently.  She never asked for help, but she knew deep down that she deserved better.

What are your inner strengths?

  • Intuition
  • Will
  • Perception
  • Imagination
  • Reason
  • Memory

Listen to your intuition when it says, “You can do better” or “have more”.

Discover your full potential by learning how your brain works with the choices you make. Use your brain in your favor by becoming an expert on it. Gemi’s Brain & Behavior Academy Program Course shows how to use these strengths.

Always rely on the idea that comes to you first. Then, take action!  Create what you want to create. Let your intuition guide you toward your goal and you will succeed 100% of the time, no question about it.

You are not an expert in everything, yet you are an expert in one thing.  So, when you need help, (because you will need it), hire someone to help you.  Gemi’s life reference also.

No one can do everything on their own, even though we often think we can.

Suppression of Emotions = Dis-ease

Suppression of Emotions = Dis-ease

Mar 14, 2020

Anxiety and Depression are created from suppression.

I really don’t like labels. My clients know, often when a new client comes to me with behavioral or mental issues often they start the conversation by saying “I have depression” “I have anxiety” or “I am depressed”. When I ask them if they are depressed now often the answer is “not right now but I have been diagnosed with depression and anxiety”.

This kind of affirmation is very strong, I am not saying it wasn’t true at some point but if addressed appropriately anxiety and depression don’t need to be a for life diagnosis. Of course, people come to me because they want more from life, they know they can feel and do better than taking medication their entire life. They come to me because they are tired of being called “depressed” or “anxious”. They come to me when they are ready to do the work. Yes, I say work because it does require consistent action to change the really strong neural pathways that have been created for many years telling you “I can’t go there because I am sad” “I don’t feel like going to this meeting or this party” “I can’t seem to clear up my mind, I can’t even breathe!”. All these symptoms are real, very real, but that doesn’t mean we can’t change them. I have never been diagnosed with depression or anxiety, clinically, but I am positive I had both during different points of my life. I did search for solutions and help when it happened but I never bought into the fact that it is and it will always be that way, not even when I was extremely sick.

Depression and Anxiety come from suppression. Suppression of things we haven’t said, actions we couldn’t take, trauma we didn’t heal from, the grief we didn’t process when it was time. We bottle up because we have to look good on the outside, we need to work, we need to be good moms or dads, we need to perform in so many places and we have to do it to the best of our capacity. There is a pressure that we put on ourselves, there is lack of authentic conversations, there is a fear of being judged, there is guilt all over ourselves, there is shame, shyness, envy, jealousy, and isolation. All these unexpressed negative emotions that carefully we have kept inside for years rot our mind and body in a very subtle way. We kept them in because it would look awful on the outside.

Whatever it is for you or a loved one, know there is a solution to all this pain, you have all the tools within you but you need guidance. None can do everything by themselves! I certainly can’t and I won’t.

It’s good to know your options, talk to professionals that can help you but make sure you address the root of the problem, the cause of your depression and anxiety. Addressing depression and anxiety by itself is only addressing the symptoms, not the cause. Know that on the other side of pain there is freedom, it is not as difficult as you might think right now.

Talk to me, what do you have to lose? I will give you one hour of my undivided attention for one hour for free. It might change your life.
