Thought with Action

Thinking happens naturally and automatically. Taking action, on the other hand, is a totally different business. How many times have you had an idea and never followed through?

In order to make things happen you need 3 things:

  • Have an idea
  • Make a committed decision
  • Take consistent action

Forget about the How and the When, if you take consistent action it will happen, yes or yes. Often we get wrapped up with the daily routines of work and “busy”-ness, and this doesn’t allow room for creativity. We go, go, go, and then one day we realize we have been living a life that is not fulfilling. I know because I did that for so many years!!!

I thought I loved what I was doing, I thought I was mildly happy, I thought my relationships were okay, until the day I thought everything in my life wasn’t good enough and I decided to live a fulfilling life. My next dilemma was, how was I going to do it?

It took a lot of courage to leave a pretty successful career, leave my country, and leave my loved ones to change my life, to do always and only what I wanted to do.

Throughout my life, I have changed my life several times.

When I felt my life wasn’t good enough, I changed it, I decided I wasn’t going to live a mediocre life. I didn’t want my children to learn to live a mediocre life, I wanted them to be happy, fulfilled in all areas and teach them to go for it, to do whatever it takes to achieve happiness in all areas, at least to always try it!

I am not perfect, my children are not perfect, but I won’t resign to being okay ever anymore, I did it and I didn’t like it. Taking consistent action in my life is a norm, I do it everyday in everything I do, because not doing it is not good enough.

Today when someone asks me, How is your day going? I can say, my day is going great, every day is a great day even when things don’t work out, still I see the good.

Take action every day to have the life you want to have, that brings you happiness.

“True to Self” – Awareness

An automatic response comes up so easily. It is like the bounce-back of a ball you dropped on the ground, automatic. More than ever we need to check on ourselves, not only to give others the appropriate answer but to have awareness of ourselves and our own health.

In this time, more than ever before, we need to check on ourselves. This means assessing our physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual body. It is not easy to do a fast scan when someone asks you on the street, it is not important to give the correct response, it is important to know what’s going on with you.

We should hold our health to a really high standard, at least as high as we hold the health of others. Here are three questions you want to ask yourself:

  • Am I doing my best today?
  • Am I thinking my best today?
  • Am I eating my best today?

If you can answer, “yes” to these three questions, you are a pro. If your answers are not all positive, remember that tomorrow you can do better than today. We don’t need to be judgemental or harsh with ourselves, that also happens automatically.

Keep this in mind, when you judge others, you are judging yourself based on other people’s behaviors. Do the inner work and forget about what others think about you.

Do your best today!

Health is the Vehicle, not the Destination

Doctors and people in general assume that when someone is in their 70’s it is normal to have poor health or at least something that is not working. Not my mom, who is in her 70’s. They have plans, they have a future, they are already healthy and they want to live longer to enjoy their time and have fun with their loved ones. Wouldn’t you want the same things? At this point of their life they already got what they wanted, They are where they wanted to be or they made peace with what they got.

Surprisingly these women and men are not taking any medication, most of them have amazing relationships with friends and family because they already purged the ones who weren’t good for them.  They eat pretty healthy, they exercise, but the common denominator in their cases is that all of them hang out most of the time with younger people. They have no interest in talking about illnesses and medications or how bad the world is.

I was having this conversation with my mom a while back. One of her friends was always talking about doctors appointments, medication and illnesses and she told her, “I love you and I deeply care about you, but I am not going to spend my time talking with you only about things that are not working. I want to talk about fun things and good things, good food or funny jokes, I can’t do this anymore and because I love you too much I don’t want to let you do this to yourself, at least while you are spending the time with me.”

Years ago my mom was very different. She was a people pleaser, she would take on everything and complain about nothing and after my dad passed away she flipped like a coin tossed in the air. She learned to let go of people that weren’t good for her, started saying what she was thinking and chose to spend time with people that she loved and were enriching her life.

To all of that I have to say “Bravo, Mama!” She is an inspiration and a gift for the entire family. She prioritizes herself and helps everyone she loves. She has awesome friends and everyone I know loves her. I am so proud of being her daughter.

Keep shining the light to what’s important for yourself and forget about what others think or do, you are not them!

Happy New Beginning 2021!

Fear Not, Doubt Not

Sometimes we win and sometimes we lose our battle against fear.

Stress is nothing more than fear for the result we expect from a situation we are in or will be. Fear of being late, fear of not being worth it, fear of failing, fear of not being good enough, fear of not being lovable, fear of not being deserving. Why do most people get stressed from simple daily tasks related to relationships, careers, health, or money? The answer is very simple: we take everything personally when nothing actually is. We get attached to the payoff whether it is good or bad.

We tend to want to control everything around us. The reality is that most of the time circumstances and surroundings control us, otherwise we would never be stressed. This lack of control is the reason we get stressed in the first place.  Let me also introduce the idea to you of payoff.

Payoff is when we always get a little something out of negative or stressful situations. For example, we play the victim role, we get people to acknowledge us more, we draw attention to us in a positive or negative manner.

Now you can see the patterns that are created by repeating this cycle of stress. The payoff is the reason we get attached to the same stress repeatedly.

This situation is the reality of the majority of people in the world. They don’t own their life, they allow other people or surroundings to tell them how to live their life. The only thing that matters is YOU and what’s important to you, these should always go first. Take power in your life!

Turn Off Survival Skills: On-Demand

Stress is part of our daily vocabulary, yet we don’t really know what the word implies nor the power we give up every time we mention it.

Our body is designed to evaluate the level of stress we have in order to calculate the effort our body needs to make to get through the stressful situation.

Our ancestors were hunters, and always had to be alert to the possibility of being hunted by bigger predators. Therefore, their bodies developed two hormones that would help them to stay alert, to stay sharp, to be faster if there was a threat or be more creative with survival methods if the situation became life threatening in a split second.

Today it is very different. We are not hunters, at least our life doesn’t depend on it, but often we go into survival mode when we feel we are threatened in some way.

Our mind can modify our health by changing the chemistry in our body.  Did you read that right? That’s amazing. Our brain chooses to release stress hormones or not.

There are two parts to the human mind, conscious and subconscious.  We have control over our conscious mind, which is the one that manages thinking. When we have negative thoughts, however, our immune system responds more slowly.   When we have positive thinking, our immune system responds more quickly. These are actions completed through our subconscious mind.

Let me tell you that the line of your thoughts is 100% your choice.  What takes time to change is the awareness and everyday practice of focusing on those positive thoughts.  Remember: you can change anytime you want. Make the right choice for yourself, everyone will benefit from it.  We can start working together on your personal goals and habits in one of our programs.  Make an appointment with me, and let’s get started.

Spending The time among great ones

Spending Time Among Great Ones

Aug 25, 2020

While you are not careful in choosing the people you mingle with, they are busy keeping you where they feel comfortable, which might not be what you desire.

I see my friend, ask how it’s going. What is the tone of their response?

“I’m so tired..”  “My life is so ____________.” (Insert negative comment here.)Hard, stressful, boring, busy, f***ed up.

Let’s face it, we all talk like this at times in our life, maybe now more frequently.

So, what makes up what we are and what we say?

The answer is Spirit.

Spirit is all we are, not just your physical self. Spirit is your thoughts.  What happens when we think repeatedly negative things? We attract problems or bad attitudes. If we can attract problems by thinking negatively, why don’t we reverse it?  Why don’t we spend more time thinking of what we want and attract those things?

This law applies to people as well.

We attract the people that are aligned with our vibration.

People notice if they are surrounded by toxic or negative people. Do you ever practice awareness of this?

When we talk about abundance, we think about what we want more of, what is better than where we currently are, in our thoughts, our homes, in our lives.

I am not saying that we can define people by their vibration, that would be unfair.  Simply stated, they are sending out a specifically negative vibration.

Choose the people you are around carefully.

Repeated experiences create new neural pathways.  Question your social climate, and be actively working to create positive, stimulating conversations and relationships.

Time is running out and we can’t control that. We need to spend more and more of our time focusing on the positive and being present.

The Amazing Secret Of Intuition

The Amazing Secret of Intuition

Aug 11, 2020

Your intuition is your guidance.

You are much more than what you can see. The more aware you are of your inner strengths, the more you use them correctly.   Nothing can go wrong.

In the movie, Fried Green Tomatoes, Evelyn Couch (Kathy Bates), went about her daily life, taking care of everyone else she could on a daily basis.  She was living her life through other people.    Evelyn knew what she wanted to have in her life, but she kept it in the background of her mind, not the foreground.  Feelings kept creeping up, yet she pushed them back down because society told her how to live her life.

This led to a feeling of dissatisfaction.  Why did this happen?  Because Evelyn didn’t know how to do it any differently.  She never asked for help, but she knew deep down that she deserved better.

What are your inner strengths?

  • Intuition
  • Will
  • Perception
  • Imagination
  • Reason
  • Memory

Listen to your intuition when it says, “You can do better” or “have more”.

Discover your full potential by learning how your brain works with the choices you make. Use your brain in your favor by becoming an expert on it. Gemi’s Brain & Behavior Academy Program Course shows how to use these strengths.

Always rely on the idea that comes to you first. Then, take action!  Create what you want to create. Let your intuition guide you toward your goal and you will succeed 100% of the time, no question about it.

You are not an expert in everything, yet you are an expert in one thing.  So, when you need help, (because you will need it), hire someone to help you.  Gemi’s life reference also.

No one can do everything on their own, even though we often think we can.

Know Your Brain Better

Know Your Brain Better

Feb 01, 2020

One of the things that amaze me the most in humans is the perfection of our being; body, brain, and mind. You probably already know that the brain runs all body functions, and if the brain dies, every organ needs to be hooked up to a machine to keep it alive.

What is not so well known is the fact that the brain has many levels of performance in every human, depending on each situation. Let’s say when we are in fight or flight mode. Brain performance gets reduced to survival. When we are in love everything is wonderful, when we work the brain knows how to stay focused, when we enjoy a hobby or a good conversation with a friend the brain relaxes and performs very differently. All of this happens because our chemistry changes in every situation depending on the intensity of that specific situation.

The brain is a very complex organ, the most marvelous, mysterious perfect gift our physical body contains. Our brain doesn’t think but helps to create thoughts, doesn’t dream but makes dreams come true, doesn’t contain learning but retains it when it is in your mind. Your brain reminds your lungs how to breathe, your heart how to beat, your eyes how to blink and cry.

It messes with your emotions when out of balance, and even it tricks you into eating certain things when those emotions flare out.

All these things happen in a closed box, our head. We can check-in, we can reach out. It might seem like we have no control over what’s going on inside our heads but we do have complete control in doing our best to give the brain all it needs. It is our responsibility to know what those needs are.

Your brain creates a pathway per action you are taking whichever is important or insignificant, that pathway will become stronger every time you repeat that particular action turning it into a habit and furthermore into a behavior. Changing behavior is not easy, it takes brain strength, willingness, it takes choice and it takes the right chemistry to make it happen every time the situation requires it. Often our mind, our thoughts want to do something but our brain caves if is not strong enough. We need to think about the behavior we want to change, fit the brain with what it needs and take make a choice towards the action to enforce that. This will create a new pathway that will get stronger every time as long as you repeat the same behavior, letting the old pathway lose strength until the day the new pathway gets established and the old one is forgotten. The path will dissipate as long as we don’t repeat it anymore.

When we are creating and reinforcing a new pathway often we relapse to the old one, that doesn’t mean you failed, that means the old pathway is much stronger, you just have to go back to repeat the new one as often as you can until one day you will realize it doesn’t take to think about it, you are doing it without effort. The new pathway or behavior is established, you won!

Here is a list of the basic things your brain needs to support your choices when you decide to change a habit/behavior.

* Protein

* Fat

* Water

  • Oxygen
  • Vitamins: A, B, C, D, E
  • Love
  • Sex
  • Exercise
  • Sleep
  • Fun
  • Support

For everyone this combination of ingredients looks different, it is up to you to make it for yourself. I know is not easy. If it was, everyone would do it and we all will be perfect and we are not. It is challenging to do it by yourself when sometimes we don’t even know what behavior is not good for us. Not all unhealthy behaviors end in eating habits, we might have unhealthy behaviors when relating to people or family, maybe we have beliefs about ourselves so rooted in our brain that we think “that’s how it is!” keeping us stacked.

Think about one behavior that doesn’t serve you anymore, something you want to change, then ask yourself this question. Am I willing?  If you are willing, I can help you to find the tools you will need to change it.

Ask me for a FREE consultation, it is 1 hour 1:1 with me, no commitments. Do something nice for yourself right now and change your life forever.

All my love,
